It is the process of examining the entire large intestine and rectum. According to the recommendation of the World Health Organization, people who have no complaints over the age of 50 should be done every 5 years. It should be done to people who have colorectal cancer in their family after the age of 40. 95% of colorectal cancers develop from polyps.

In other words, colon cancer is a preventable disease of 95%.

Colonoscopy is the most successful method in the diagnosis of colon diseases. With this procedure, polyps can be removed, bleeding can be stopped, and even early-stage bowel cancer can be treated.

Starting the day before the examination, the bowel should be cleaned from the stool.

  • The presence of red blood in the stool
  • Stool-thinning
  • Anemia
  • The occult blood test positivity in stool
  • Colonoscopic examination should be performed in the presence of prolonged abdominal pain, constipation and diarrhea.
